A Doncaster organisation dedicated to supporting individuals with mental health issues, disabilities, and other challenges is inviting the local community to come together to raise funds for charity on Friday 20 March.

The People Focused Group is inviting the local community to come together for a special “Care for a Cuppa” fundraising event, between 10:30am and 1pm at the Wellness Centre, 45 Montrose Avenue, Intake, which is the home of peer support in Doncaster.
The event will raise funds for Your Hearts and Minds charity, which is working towards an ambitious £250,000 target to transform the ageing 29-year-old therapy pool at the Diamond Activity and Therapeutic Centre in Balby, operated by Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH).
Open to everyone, the event promises a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, reflecting the supportive community spirit that The People Focused Group is well known for. Visitors will be able to enjoy a range of activities and entertainment while connecting with others over a cup of tea or coffee.
Helen Neary from The People Focused Group said:
“We’re really looking forward to welcoming people from across the community for a relaxed morning together. ‘Care for a Cuppa’ is about connection, conversation and supporting a fantastic cause that will make a real difference to people’s lives.”
Highlights of the event include a live DJ, a roaming magician, a BBQ, and a “bake-off” competition, alongside a raffle, tombola, and a variety of other fundraising activities taking place throughout the morning.
Organisers hope the event will bring the community together while raising vital funds to support the therapy pool appeal.
Your Hearts and Minds Fundraising Co-ordinator Neil Firbank said:
“We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone at the PFG for their support.
“Having a thoroughly modern new pool and enriched sensory environment will greatly help us to provide a wider range of therapeutic support to a larger number of clients, their families, and the wider community.”
