The NHS is set to celebrate its 77th birthday in 2025 and to help mark this we’ve launched a fabulous new community grants programme with £77,000 available from the trust’s Your Hearts and Minds Charity. The charity is a truly local charity supporting people living in Rotherham, Doncaster and North Lincolnshire. We raise funds to support activities, projects, education and research which go above and beyond normal NHS funding to improve the care and experience of patients.
Bids will be welcomed and up to 30 grants valued between £1,000 and £3,000 will be awarded.
The criteria are that the funding must:
- make a foreseeable difference to one of our charity’s five missions:
- a good start, supporting children and young people
- our best self, supporting people living with physical illness, mental illness, an addiction or with a learning disability
- research, supporting research in our communities to drive improvements in health
- promoting education and learning of RDaSH staff, peers, partners and patients
- a good death, supporting patients who are at the end of their lives
- help to sustain community infrastructure consistent with the vision to nurture the power in our communities
- identify a clear expenditure plan and benefits
- be a bid jointly made by an employee of RDaSH and a local registered charity or voluntary sector body in either Rotherham, Doncaster or North Lincolnshire
The bids will be considered by a joint panel comprising non-executive and executive directors of the Charitable Funds Committee, working alongside a voluntary community and social enterprise (VCSE) representative from each of the three places, the general manager of Flourish and a patient representative.
Applications for community grant funding (DOCX, 48KB) should be submitted by Friday 14 February to [email protected].
Grants will be issued to the successful bidders on Wednesday 2 April.
