A good start
We provide a wide range of services for children and young people to support their physical, mental and emotional health across North Lincolnshire and South Yorkshire. Most children across these localities will come into contact with our services in their developing years.
We focus our fundraising efforts to support our children and young people in some key areas.
Getting school ready
With your support we help under-fives to get ready to start attending school by investing in programmes that focus on children’s learning and development, social skills and physical development such as potty training.
Increasingly, we’re seeing families, children and young people who would benefit from further support in this area, so with your support we’re able to work with children, families, nursery care providers, partners and the voluntary sector to provide extra support.
Nutrition
The first 1,000 days of any child’s life are crucial and have a significant impact on their life chances, health and education, so it’s vital that we provide extra support and invest in children’s lives as early as possible.
By working with communities to raise funds, we can work with children and families, schools and voluntary sector organisations to improve nutrition. We know that children who are hungry are less able to concentrate in the classroom and less likely to develop their learning and educational skills as well as the impact it has on their physical health.
Innovation
We are increasingly working with children and young people to provide our services in more innovative ways.
Our e-clinics and school nursing apps have been a huge success. Recently this has been extended to the use of virtual reality technology in the provision of therapy for young people with a range of mental health conditions such as social anxiety.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, a higher proportion of children have not returned to school. So we have used virtual reality as part of their treatment to help alleviate social anxiety, which has enabled them to successfully return to school.
Our charity fundraising will help us to continue to invest in new technologies and continue to deliver great outcomes for children and young people.
